08:20 AM ET 03.13 | For the first time in three seasons, Kansas will enter the NCAA Tournament after a loss. "I kind of like it. I hate saying that. I don't like losing, but I kind of like the fact it's not fool's gold with us anymore," KU coach Bill Self said on Monday's Big 12 coaches teleconference. "When you make shots and don't guard and get away with it ... our guys saw first-hand what will happen in a one-and-done type situation, which the Big 12 tournament is also. I kind of like our mind-set. I like where we are at. I like being able to get their attention (following Friday's 81-72 loss to Baylor) before we go to Omaha." Kansas will open the NCAAs at 8:57 p.m. Friday against Detroit at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.

D2...you see Courtney Gardner got arrested last night? Looks like booze/pot in the car and resisting/causing a scene....said "don't you know we're D-1 ahteletes" to the cop. Yelled and showed his **** until they arrrested him.

Already arrested, and 4 summer classes short of eligability.....my bet, this kid never plays for OU either.

In the end, this is an Arky to OU flip that prob won't make any difference to either school. Around here this AM, they feel like they dodged a bullet.

I hear the on-line classes are a go, but the 2 classroom courses are still very much up in the air. Eligability and arrest records may cost this kid his remaining 2 yrs of CFB.

Not feeling too sorry....he made his choices.

Unfortunately for him, sounds like he wasn't given the correct direction when he was younger. All he still sees is that he is "God's gift" to the football world.

Perhaps this will bring him to see the light.

Stoops may or may not give him a chance, he does not tolerate that crap. Remember the Grabow kid who thought he was God's gift as well and never stepped foot on the field!

That's funny......used to defend Stansbury to my Miss friends, but this year, not so much. He did less with more and just about anyone this side of Pitt

Arky backed off his offer due to the 4 required summer classes and a high doubt of academic eligability......before the arrest. I'm all for second chances, but I bet this won't be his last "incident". IMO Okie doesn't need the drama

Conference tournaments are not truly "one and done" because you can still lose and make the NCAAs Heck, a conference tourney loss didn't effect Kentucky's overall #1 seed at all. While, I don't agree completely with Self's analysis, I do think a coach can use a tourney loss as a teaching point for his team as they head into the real "one and done" tournament.
