08:02 AM ET 03.14 | Let the free agent games begin. The NFL's free agent signing period commenced at 4 p.m. Tuesday, and perhaps the most surprising news around the league is that the Buffalo Bills had a viable pulse. Several players have new working addresses as of this morning, but it was one player -- and his name is not Peyton Manning -- who is still undecided regarding where he's going to sign who generated the most buzz on day one. And that was because his first stop -- and maybe only stop -- was Buffalo. Defensive end Mario Williams, the most coveted defensive player on the market, arrived in Buffalo Tuesday night and was scheduled to meet with the Bills' hierarchy into Wednesday.

An upset winner or the Williams camp knew the Bills would offer the most money so they can take their offer around to the other teams and back home to the Texans and say look what I can get....pony up something close

Seriously? Like Manning, these FA's need more guests to their party.

Does Mario know how cold it gets in Buffalo? How the snow builds up over the tops of cars on every sidewalk, until the lakes freeze and then it gets even colder? Does he know how this team has been a doormat for decade?
Or is he only in it for the money?

$50 million for a team that went to the playoffs with their third string QB or $60 million to go 8-8 for the next three years. Tough decision.

Williams a Bill? I think not. He's a Texan and will stay there.

The only type of winner the Bills will ever be is an upset winner.

Go get 'em Bills. Make him Mayor. Give him $75 million all guaranteed. Whatever it takes. Time to remind the posters above (some of whom are obviously under the age of 13) that Buffalo is a proud city with a rich football history. And the weather is not THAT much worse than in New England.

Indeed, no other team has lost 4 straight super bowls, that's setting the bar pretty high

From what I've heard, Buffalo is one of the best tailgating venues in the NFL. I've got to give their fans credit for supporting a team through thick and thin.

Least they got to 4, lots of teams ain't managed that. It is a great football city and the fans there really do deserve to be rewarded for their loyalty.

There's a ringing endorsement.
They also have good wings. And those sandwiches they have, whatever those are called, are tasty, too.

Has anyone heard definite news about this? Several posts elsewhere are claiming the Bills signed him...?
