08:01 AM ET 03.15 | Credit Tennessee in making up for lost time. [The Titans] might have been late to the Peyton Party. But with the future Hall-of-Famer now in their Nashville facility, they fully intend to crash the proceedings. ... The Titans have undergone a metamorphosis over the last 14 months, assuming a far more buttoned-down, professional approach with Munchak taking the seat occupied for 17 years by Jeff Fisher. The club expects that to appeal to Manning. As one club source put it, "I'd be completely shocked if Peyton and Munch don't hit it off tremendously," saying both men possess "a great attention to detail, and brute honesty. They're both very matter-of-fact football people. ... Mike is Peyton Manning. They're unbelievably similar."

Could it be that this many changes to a team in one season will take some time to gel, and by the time they've got it together Peyton Manning will be an old man?

"Mike is Peyton Manning. They're unbelievably similar." Well, then, have Mike play quarterback. Save a few bucks.

Realistically, Peyton is looking at 2-3 more years. 3 years is all a new coach can expect to get a franchise moving these days, anyway. If he's not winning by then, he's gone.

They won nine games last year, have the best offensive line of any team he is looking at and a running game.
His wife is from Tennessee I believe, and he may have a home there already.
i have thought this is where he ends up from the beginning. Maybe I am wrong, but it is all there. He certainly knows the division.

Yeah, he went to school in Tennessee, too. It may be the best place for him.

Oh, well, back to the Tebow threads, I guess.

Funny thing is what happens once Peyton does sign.
If Tennessee, then Hasselback is out of there, and it all starts the circus once again.
flynn, VY ( Denver might want to look at him, same as Tebow only a better passer ) and on and on.

I too, thought this was the ideal landing place for 18. Not only because of his ties to the state, but he gets to stick it to the Colts twice a year. Kenny Britt should put up huge numbers if this all goes down, and maybe CJ2YPC finds his CJ2K form?

The suspense is killing me....

VY will be a great addition for any team. Just look how much he helped the Iggles. He gave them a great nickname. Maybe he should join the Heat.

That's not suspense. That's the media.

Plus, he'd have 4 automatic victories in his own division, just by suiting up against the Colts and Jags.

And a rival worthy of the name in Houston. The AFC South has been "the Colts and 3 other teams" for so long that it will be interesting to see how Peyton does without an automatic division championship every year.

When you put it that way, the division sounds so much more interesting.

His wife is a Memphis native and they own a house in Chattanooga, so they definitely are connected to the state. The Titans play in Nashville which is just 200 miles from Memphis, although I don't know for sure that Ashley's parents still live here (I'm in Memphis too).

You thought he was going to Denver a few days ago so you really have no idea where he's going. I said from the beginning that he wouldn't sign with Denver.

another day....another Peyton thread, yawn.....

If he does sign with the Titans and stays healthy I predict that Tennessee wins that division. There is never anything automatic about winning the division.

I agree, it makes me wish for more Tebow threads.
