Chipper has some harsh words for Harper

08:10 AM ET 03.15 | Once a teen phenomenon himself, Chipper Jones has a unique perspective on Bryce Harper. Jones smirks knowingly when the subject of Harper's youthful indiscretions is broached -- the ill-conceived tweets, the professed love of the New York Yankees, the comparisons to Joe Namath. "It's disappointing to hear," Jones said. ... Given the chance, Jones was asked, would he seek an audience with Harper, to impart some of the wisdom gained from surviving phenom-hood and producing a borderline Hall of Fame career? "No, I'm not going to seek him out," Jones said, "unless he wants to sit down and talk -- which I've done with other players before. Let's just say he doesn't seem to me to be the type of kid who wants to walk up to me and pick my brain."

Seems to be everyone's sentiment at this point. The kid has been told he's the greatest thing since sliced bread since he was able to hold a bat and he probably thinks he has it all figured out. He would def be wise to reach out to some guys like Chipper, Jeter, etc. to gain some insight as to what he's about to be going through and how to handle things, but that prob wont happen. I wish the kid success, but he's prob gonna wish he wasn't such a knucklehead when he looks back and its all said and done.

IMO, people need to leave this kid alone and just him him grow up. Of course he's going to say stupid things, he's only 19. And today's social media makes everyting he says look 100% worse than it actually is. Now if he's still acting like a doochnozzle 5 years from now, then you have a problem, but until then he's still a kid, cut him some slack.

This is why I hated to see the drinking age raised to 21.
Back in the day 18 and 19 year olds learned early in bars that you watch what you say or some guy just might kick your a##.

Jimmie Dimmick: No, No, No, No, let me ask you a question. When you came pulling in here, did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said "Dead Beaner Storage"?

Jules Winnfield: Jimmie, you know I ain't seen no...

Jimmie Dimmick: [cutting him off again; getting angry] Did you notice a sign out in front of my house that said "Dead Beaner Storage"?

Jules Winnfield: [pause] No. I didn't.

Jimmie Dimmick: You know WHY you didn't see that sign?

Jules Winnfield: Why?

Jimmie Dimmick: 'Cause it ain't there, 'cause storing dead **** ain't my ****ing business, that's why!
