Eustachy doesn't know Fab Melo ... at all

08:15 AM ET 03.15 | While the NCAA Tournament, and perhaps college basketball, won't see Fab Melo, he certainly was a central figure in Syracuse's drive to a successful season. Should Syracuse beat UNC Asheville in its first game of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, the Orange would advance to play either Kansas State or Southern Mississippi on Saturday. Southern Mississippi coach Larry Eustachy was asked how the absence of Syracuse center Fab Melo would impact the rest of the East Region bracket. "As idiotic as this is going to sound, and I don't mean this in any way, shape or form, but I don't know who he is," Eustachy said. "I really don't." ... "I don't watch college basketball," Eustachy said. "I watch Law & Order."

You would think he'd have a passing knowledge of a star on a team he possibly could see in the tounrament. You really have to have your head in the sand not to have heard about Fab Melo over the past week at least.
