Cash-strapped Broncos willing to pay Manning

The Broncos are a reported $40 million under the cap. How the heck does the writer think they are cash strapped?
They have more money laying around they never spent last year. They are QB strapped, not cash strapped. I would like to take a strap the writer. Would that be considered bullying?

I get it, but the owner has money he made last year falling out of his pocket. They all make millions, cannot help it with shared revenue.
The players were dumb, they let a lower cap kick in last year, but the minimum floor cap does not kick in for another year ( or is it two ).

Bowlen "cash-tight " = cheap/greedy NOT strapped for cash.

What's not said here is that John Elway is throwing in one of his car dealerships that he will let Peyton run as part of the comp plan.

I think Elway sold those to Huizenga.

I don't buy it. A rabid fan base that packs the stadium, money from selling all the Tebow jerseys, the TV deal. No way he is cash strapped. If you are cash strapped with all of that coming in, you make a box of rocks look like Einstein. Why would he even want people to think that? It would not make Peyton confident they would spend to put a championship team around him. What moron at the Denver Post wrote this garbage?

I just can't see Manning going to Denver. CAn't see it.

I'm thinkin' they better shore up that O-line for Manning.... I seem to remember Tebow using his legs quite a bit, and not on planned plays...
