08:20 AM ET 03.18 | Dwight Freeney is not necessarily out in Indianapolis, even though many of his contemporaries are. There remains a chance the Colts will deal him if the right offer comes along. But the 32 year old has not hit the wall, and the Colts would not mind keeping him. Freeney's current contract calls for him to count $19 million against the cap. The Colts would like to restructure, but if Freeney refuses, the team can handle the hit.

I think the most comparable career to Dwight Freeney's is likely Michael Strahan. Both players entered the league at age 22, and tallied around 100 sacks over their first ten seasons (102.5 for Freeney, 95.5 for Strahan).
Using Strahan's career as a benchmark, I'd estimate Freeney to have approximately 3-5 good seasons left in him.

They have no choice but to keep him. You cannot trade his cap number to anybody. If he does not restructure then that is that.
Maybe he wants out of there? Why hang around for a rebuilding job at his age.
I say he says pay me or cut me. either way he wins.

Indeed it will, but I think Pagano lasts three years in Indy and is then gone. Luck is good, but they will have to totally redefine their offense. Seems like they're doing that with all the folks they cut, but they have to address that offensive line bigtime. They also have to do something to establish a running game. Luck is a great play action guy, but he needs that running game to be legitimately there in order for that to be an option. This year the mantra was suck for Luck. For the next few years, I think it might be suck with Luck.

I say trade him and see if Jerry Hughes can live up to his expectations. Colts already wasted the #1 pick on him, see if he can turn the page.

I wish Peyton Good Luck and Good Health in his quest to play in the NFL, I personally do not think it's a good Idea, If it had been a leg, shoulder or any other injury I would say It's worth a chance, But 5 serious neck surgeries and 36 yrs old saturday, I think it's a very very Bad Idea. I just hope if he's given a warning that his neck ain't going to work, Peyton Retires and does 1 of a million football related jobs . I personaly think that Mr Irsay Colts owner did not want to see his friend laying on the field with no movement in his arms or leggs. It wasn't 28 million, Peyton is loaded he don't need to prove nothing, He has a SB Ring several MVP'S a stack of records no one will ever break and a Shoe in to be in the Hall Of Fame.

I'm amazed at how the Colts are falling apart so quickly.....instead of trying to rebuild around the talent they still have...it appears they are having a "fire sale." What's the point of drafting a "future franchise QB" when he doesn't have anything to work with?
