Odom: Lakers should admit they wanted him gone

10:31 AM ET 03.18 | Lamar Odom hasn't played up to his talent -- or his employer's expectations -- this season. He'll admit that much. What he disputes, however, is that he's lost his passion for basketball after joining the Dallas Mavericks. "If it wasn't still there, I wouldn't be playing," Odom said. "I would be doing something else after some of the things that I experienced." His commitment also has been questioned: Odom sought a buyout from the Mavericks last month, but was rebuffed by owner Mark Cuban and general manager Donnie Nelson, a league source said. The Lakers initially tried to trade Odom to the New Orleans Hornets in a deal for Chris Paul in December. The proposed trade upset Odom, and after the NBA vetoed the deal, Lakers officials said Odom told them he wanted out of L.A. Odom now says the trade wasn't his doing. "Everybody knows that," he said. "It was something that they were willing to get done no matter what. I think it is OK for them to admit that."

Everyone knows that Cleveland is the best city in the world. It is young and vibrant like its team the Cavaliers. New York is old and boring like the Knicks.

Based on all of the Knicks threads of late (past two months), I'd say the Knicks, and certainly New Yorks are a far cry from being boring. Cleveland?........I have no comment..........this certainly speaks volumes.

should be a capital offense.

A lot of people criticize Jim Buss including me but I have to say that so far his moves are working fine.
Odom is a good example. We all thought the lakers FO was nuts but now we can see it was a great move saving almost $9m. This guy is just too much drama.
