11:11 AM ET 03.18 | University of Tennessee officials told the AJC on Friday that there's no connection between 5-star WR Cordarrelle Patterson signing with the Volunteers last month and one of Patterson's coaches recently joining Tennessee's football staff. Patterson played at Hutchinson (Kan.) junior college and was ranked as the No. 1 overall JC prospect in the nation. Up until the final hours before signing day, nearly every recruiting analyst was predicting for Patterson to sign with UGA.

'Up until the final hours before signing day, nearly every recruiting analyst was predicting for Patterson to sign with UGA'...did UGA also hire a Hutchinson coach?

Who cares. Happens all the time.

Yeah, no matter if the team needs another coach or not. I guess there are no rules on the number of low paid interns you could have on staff.

And, if a 5* player's best friend is offered a scholly as a package deal at least one of them will be getting an education.

I agree, now the main question is, can Dooley coach the kid and make him a better player!!!!

No, his former JC coach will coach him. That's why he's an intern with an undisclosed role within the university. <extreme cynicism font>

Everyone seems to think this kid is NFL bound so he could be gone in a year. His college career could resemble that of a AAU basketball recruit - play in the fall don't go to class in the spring.

Well good luck with that!!!! I still think the Kid needs a good WR coach instead of an "intern" coach, if he is to make an impact in the NFL.

Stop it. Everyone cheats, so therefore it can't be wrong.

From what I understand... He has to be a real coach.. No administrative asst... BBall created this rule...And to think UTk would.go to a.JUCO school for a WR coach is hilarious... They better hope Da Brick likes him

That was/is my point!!! Why would the VOLS hire a JC "intern" coach and how much are they paying the coach to bring this player to Tenn????

There is no connection ? Sure there wasn't. I was born at night but not last night. What a bunch of liars but you have to expect that coming from the SEC.
