08:19 AM ET 03.19 | So much for standing by your batterymate. [Ivan Nova] gave up four runs to the Orioles in the first inning and one in the second before settling down with two scoreless innings to end his night. "The first two innings, he had no rhythm, Joe Girardi said. "The last two innings, he had great rhythm." ... Nova, who gave up home runs to Adam Jones and Matt Wieters in the opening frame, said he felt great on the mound, but threw third-string catcher Gustavo Molina under the bus for a lack of communication. "That affected my game too much, but I feel really good today, Nova said. "I was shaking (off signs) too much. That slowed my game. You start shaking and you get out of what you want to do. I think that happened out there."

You stay classy, Ivan.

No big deal. Nova is young himself.. he'll learn, I am sure Joe G sat him down and had a short talk with him about such comments.

Re-read what Nova actually said. Sorry... I can't come to the same conclusion as the reporter. First, there is the language barrier. (It's a reason many Dominicans hate to talk to the press.) Then there was what he actually said, and what he meant by what he said.

If you are shaking off too many pitches, the blame for that can go anywhere. Nova didn't place blame; he merely stated a fact. It was the reporter who claims Nova threw Molina under the bus. I don't see it. All I see is some junior reporter trying to make a name for himself by unnecessarily stirring up sheet.

Nova will learn. Next time he'll say he owns what he does on that mound and will take responsibility for the result. Girardi suggested as much later in the original article.

Don't cry about your failures and blame your teammate. Suck it up and come out all the more determined the next time around.

QUOTE(#14):

So - since you said oops twice - does that mean you didn't agree with your comment? - or - that you didn't mean to double post? ;-)

Little too deep for a Monday.
