Did Manning pick the wrong horse?

08:04 AM ET 03.20 | Hearts are breaking from San Francisco to Tennessee, but soaring a mile high in Denver. The Broncos are the reigning AFC West champs. The team won a playoff game this season under the run-oriented quarterback Tim Tebow. The franchise is led by John Elway, a former Denver quarterback who's now an executive. But there are some signs that Manning, a four-time NFL MVP, may have made the wrong choice. Manning is used to having amazing receivers like Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. He had the opportunity to pair up with another elite receiver if he chose Arizona, where Larry Fitzgerald plays. He could have chosen Tennessee, too. ... Instead, he picked a Broncos squad that doesn't have a single receiver who had more than 612 receiving yards last season.

The Broncos didn't have a quarterback who could throw to his receivers last year. That kind of limits their reception yardage.

And the Broncos do have something Peyton Manning liked very much. Ninety million dollars.

WSJ never let's ancillary things get in the way of cold numbers.

With Peyton Manning as their QB, I don't think Denver will have much trouble attracting receivers.

Jerry Rice in his prime would not have busted 900 yards with that Bronco passing game last year.

You need a QB who actually throws the ball before you can put up big numbers receiving. DAAAA

The Wall Street Journal? Shouldn't they be talking about subordinated convertible debentures and credit default swaps? C'mon, leave this kind of reporting to the pros, like the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.

Manning picked the horse with the largest saddle bags.

Thank God he picked someone, at least that part is over.

No, the Devil made him do it. Just ask Tim Tebow.

Is there anyone left? It seems like the 49ers and Pats have been loading up at the WR position over the past few days.
