08:30 AM ET 03.21 | As spring training opened, Bruce Bochy said a three-way race at first base included Aubrey Huff, Brett Pill and Brandon Belt. A month later, Belt finds himself in a couple of other position races, as well. He's second on the team with 41 innings at first base but also ranks among the leaders in innings logged in left field (18) and right (17). That's more than twice as many outfield innings as Huff and Pill combined and makes one thing clear: The Giants still don't know exactly what to do with Belt. "In his case, it's going to come down to the last days (of spring training)," general manager Brian Sabean said. ... "We're still evaluating (Belt) in the outfield."

Its shocking that this guy is not a starter in that lineup.

Posey should be converted to OF. Belt should be the 1st baseman.

Righty (Belt) ..lefty (Pill)..platoon at first...get rid of Huff.....seems pretty simple to me...

This guy can't be as good as advertised or they would find him a spot - the giants have struggled to score for so long i have to believe if they really thought he could hit they would find a way

its always nice to have this type of problems, why?? because you have extra options in your roster!!!

Bochy over-plays veterans. Nothing new here. It's Huff's job to lose.

Belt is a first baseman. Posey is a catcher. You can't throw people in the outfield. Stopping runs is just as important as scoring runs for the Giants.

Schierholtz in right; Pagan in center; Cabrera in left.

(you're welcome)

maybe the giantsa problem its not belt, but it could be their manager who should be evaluated!!!

Regardless of where they put him, he's going to play every day.

This. Mainly Bocheys over reliance on veterans over young players. There's absolutely no reason for Huff to have played as much as he did last year at the expense of Belt early on and Pill later in the season.

You'd think for a team and city that likes to drop "trow" in the blink of an eye they'd know what to do with a belt.............

Another moronic comment by a Phillies fan. It's good to see some things never change...like the Phillies losing in the playoffs.
