Laich on Crosby phenomenon: 'Well, whatever'

08:24 AM ET 03.22 | Brooks Laich, who earned heaps of good-guy street cred after a playoff loss a few years ago, generally manages to play a good guy on his weekly radio hit with "the Junkies," too. Once in a while, though, the Junkies attempt to ask Laich about the Penguins and Sidney Crosby, and then it occasionally gets interesting. I can't find the proof, but I know it's happened in the past, and it happened again this week. J.P. Flaim: You said you watched a game last night, did you watch any of Crosby's return? Laich: No, I didn't watch their game. Jason Bishop: He doesn't like talking about Crosby. He doesn't like talking about Pittsburgh or Crosby. Flaim: He had four assists! I mean, you've got to give him his credit. Laich: Well, whatever.

Word. I can't imagine that Crosby gives a flying fruck what anyone thinks of his performance//skills, and vice versa. Trying to cause problems where there doesn't have to be any. After all, haven't they learned from Semin's idiotic remarks?

I gotta agree with Laich on this one, whatever. In the last 30 games the Pens are 24-4-2. Most of those wins came without Sid. They are a better team with him, but they can play without him.
