Yeah, got forbid he had to waste Clayton Mortensen.

Not that it really matters, but the article was from the NY Daily News, not the Post.

It's only spring training Bobby. Save it for when it counts.

Bobby's just talking a little smack. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to spice up the rivalry. He did after all wanted to finish the game - counting or not. Let the double-A boys fight for the W. That's why they came to spring training.

For the record... Neither of these squads were their full "A" squads. Boston had already played another split-squad game earlier in the day. This was an opportunity for the underlings to get some playing time for a team they one day may play for. Nothing wrong with acting like you care.

The Red Sox started their A squad, got them their playing time, and the game was a low minor league game at that point.
Girardi was right. Three hour bus ride, shower, then split games today at one for Yankees.
You do what is best for your team. That is what you get paid for.

Boston traded Marco Scutaro for the 26-year-old Clayton Mortensen. They have every intention of using him. Maybe not this spring, but possibly as a call-up after their current pitching situation settles down.

What does Tebow have to say about it?

Kudos to the Red Sox for building that ball park. Very nice.
Glad they stopped the game, still some good basketball going on at the same time.
