This is just an opinion poll, and people spoke from the heart. I'm not at all surprised.

Meanwhile... somebody moved the cheese, and it's time to go find it.

Imagine your mom's eyes, seeing you got an A in Latin and a C in English. :-D

Indeed, les jeux sont faits.

This was a weird little story in The Globe. Somebody has way too much time on their hands. Of course, posting on FN also speaks to my considerable ability to waste time as well.

The fickle Red Sox Nation needs to realize Francona if not coming back....and the Nation will have a blast at all the second guessing of Valentine they'll be doing for the next few years....because as we know the whole Red Sox Nation are better managers than Bobby V.....

I don't think it said they polled Red Sox fans, just 936 Mass. voters. It is kind of hard to judge Valentine since he hasn't managed a regular season game yet for the Red Sox. Besides it's not like people didn't have their concerns about Francona when he took over.

Correct, Francona had done nothing at all in his managerial career to justify getting the job in 2004. In fact the only reason he got the job was to help recruit Curt Shilling, whom he had a great relationship with going back to their days in Philly.

Tito and Valentine are polar opposites when it comes to handling players. Tito, will always be loved in Boston, and now Valentine needs a fair chance to show what he can do.

Isn't there like some kind of pact / oath that all Massoftwoshitz denizens are sworn to uphold being a Red Sox fan or be burned at a stake in Salem....just saying....

its not what fans want,,, its what the red sox owner wants,,, after all if valentin screw the team and the season,,, the red sox would wash their lovely hands and throw the blame back to their manager,,,, its that make any sense to all the fans??? to it does,,,, the red sox don't have the nerfe to accept mistakes and always will refuse to take any part of the blame, or the whole blame at all!!!!!

every team, and every excecutive will always have a concern over the new manager, or GM, or the new hitting coach, ect, ect, the difference between francona and valentine its,,, francona has two titles with the red sox, or the red sox got two titles with francona as their manager,, something that valentine its lacking at least untill now,,, but who knows if the time and patience its given to him he may bring in another title for the red sox what's your pick???

ther are things in life that, whenever its benefit the team the owners would be well satisfied, but if the team can't be in first place and win the pennant right away,,, the owners will show thei anger of displesure against the manager, it not matter if its the owners fault!!!
