08:21 AM ET 03.26 | To what extent might indecision bug Red Sox Nation? Bobby V. wants Jose Iglesias to be his shortstop. Ben Cherington favors Mike Aviles. Bobby V. wants Alfredo Aceves to start. Ben commits to Daniel Bard. Bobby V. thinks Ryan Lavarnway's bat can help the big club now. Ben is determined that Lavarnway spend more time learning how to catch. Bobby V. wants to write a different lineup every day. Ben prefers a set lineup. Bobby wants to squeeze. Ben hates to give up an out. Bobby wants to win now. Ben sees the big picture. ... These guys haven't even made it yet to Opening Day and already there are rumblings that Valentine and Cherington are headed toward the same kind of contretemps as Valentine and former Mets GM Steve Phillips.

Since when does an ESPN reporter know about the inner conversations of management?

As for some of these choices... I have to say these are "good" problems to have. Some of these prospects are killing the ball in spring training. Depth is nice. If they can put together even a half-a**ed rotation, they're going to be in good shape.

Better watch your back Jed. Don't forget Bobby is Larry's choice.

QUOTE(#4):

There has been nothing but drama in the Red Sox organization since Francona was fired. Valentine is only going to increase it.This isnt news

Lennon needed McCartney. Abbott needed Costello. Yin needs yang.

Sometimes dynamic tension can be a good thing.

Cherington is still in charge of personnel decisions, so he can demote Iglesias if he wants to. Both of their jobs rely on their ability to work together, so they will both accept their marriage

QUOTE(#9):

If Cherington favors Mike Aviles over anybody he should fired. Aviles has to be the lousiest player I have seen in an MLB uniform in years. Can't field, can't hit, can't run.

Iglesias can't get over the Mendoza line while Aviles is batting .333 in spring training. Mike also went 3 for 4 yesterday with 2 runs and an RBI. I can understand why the discussion is happening.

If only the Jets would trade Tebow to the Sox, we could merge this place into one neverending thread.

Um, managers are supposed to MANAGE, right? Administrators and bean-counters are supposed to shuffle paper. Stay out of this, C.
