08:13 AM ET 03.27 | Brandon Inge's tryout for a regular spot in the Tigers infield continues. [Inge] went 0-for-3 for the fourth straight time today, in a 3-3 exhibition tie with the Miami Marlins. His 0-for-12 streak has dropped his spring-training average from .219 to .159. In 44 at-bats this spring, he has one homer and one RBI. "I feel great at the plate," Inge said. "I consider a quality at-bat squaring it up and hitting it on the screws. I've done that a lot. I don't have much to show for average, which I really don't care about. I've learned -- especially after last year (when he hit .197) -- I don't care one bit. I'm having fun playing baseball, and I will continue to have fun. I will never let numbers bring me down again."

Think about how much more fun he could have if he could just get over the Mendoza Line.

He's right about the average not being a big issue in the Spring. However, if that low average were to carry over to the actual season, then the Tigers and Inge have an issue.

Hope he is still "loving it" in Toledo with the Mudhens you ****. Lord.
Mr. Gonna shock the world and still find a starter role? BS. Hit the road dude- you 're officially taking up the roster spot for someone more capible at this time. There comes a time in everyones lives when you have to swallow your ego and step aside... I think this is your time man.

He's there with Ryan Braun in the terrible spring department.

Morning moose.

He doesn't need to worry about his numbers. All of us in Tigertown do that for him.

March 27, 2012  09:37 AM ET

I bet the other players who want a starting spot in the Detroit infield are loving it too.

Pfft... Smokey sticks to his vets for a ridiculious amount of time. (ie Magglio, Inge, Guillen, ect)

...so I think Santi and Rayburn will split time but seriously, Inge gets **** and somehow cries his way into the line up...

March 27, 2012  10:42 AM ET

I bet he'd care if his pay was based on performance.
