Irish enamored with Hendrix

08:19 AM ET 03.27 | Without Michael Floyd to rely on, the task might be a little tougher for Notre Dame's next starting quarterback -- whoever that is. Can top Class of 2012 signal-caller Gunner Kiel get the starting nod in the season opener against Navy in Ireland? Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly has scaled back the offense this spring in an effort to get all of the QBs on an even playing field, which may not bode well for incumbent Tommy Rees. ... The offensive staff is obviously enamored by Andrew Hendrix, based on the fact that his reps increased significantly down the stretch in 2011. He is a better runner and has a stronger arm than Rees. Everett Golson possesses the most athleticism of all the combatants and has a year under his belt.

Did your piggies whip his Tigers in "hum babe" this weekend or is he still depressed about the girls hoops loss?

Tommy wasn't the starter last season nor should he be this season, the kid throws into coverage and the opposing D will leave him a wide open lane because they know he is terrified of taking it himself up field. No Tom your out, Hendrix and Golson are now finally ready for prime-time, thank Crist!! Oh i mean thank Christ.

That series is this weekend, Thurs, Fri and Sat. We took 2 of 3 from Moo State last weekend.

I'm heading to Memphis today, D-han and Venice tomorrow & will fish 1/2 day tomorrow, Thurs and Friday. Plan to go to BR for the Sat and Sun games......root on my little piggies.

Wanted to do a avi bet with LUS on the baseball series, but he may not jump on so we can set it up....something tells me onw of us will get to talk some smack, regardless....:-)

Seeing your post Van... and Piratey's... and the others means we are creeping up on football season! But, basketball season is still going on for the Buckeyes as they prepare to open up a can on Kansas Saturday!

This QB business that Kelly has going is perplexing. Maybe he has the "little man's complex" and loves the control he has keeping you Domers hanging until the last minute. Unlike Urban Meyer who says that positions are won (and lost) in spring camp, Kelly seems happy to carry his QB decision into August. Rees looked pretty good to me last year and maybe, just maybe if Kelly worked with the kid he might have improved. Instead Kelly showed the kid his rage and the pine. If he starts the freshman Keil he is insane. If he likes Hendrix then MAKE HIM THE STARTING QB and move on. Kelly seems to have trouble making big decisions... like I have been saying, Kelly may not be ready for prime-time! OK Domers, have at me!

A lucid, well thought out point of view. No further questions from this domer Your Honor...!
