08:20 AM ET 03.29 | The Dodgers, like most items up for bid, are worth what someone is willing to pay for them, so where might that leave the New York teams? A week after Forbes valued the Mets at $719 million, sports business consultant Marc Ganis estimated Wednesday that the organization actually is worth more than double that amount in light of the Dodgers' price tag. The Yankees? They're likely worth as much as $4 billion, according to Ganis, president of Chicago-based sports marketing company SportsCorp. "Let me tell you, if the Dodgers are worth $2 billion, the Yankees are worth $3.5 to $4 billion," Ganis said. "The Red Sox are worth $2.5 billion. And the Mets go from being worth, say, in the low $1 (billion)s to the mid- to high-$1 (billion)s."

The new owners of the Dodgers are idiots. The team isn't worth the $2 billion they're paying. They won't make this money back any time soon. All they did was inflate what other teams are now worth. The new owners of the Cubs must be popping champagne corks all over the place. They only paid a paltry $820 million for a team, now, probably worth over $3 billion.

The're in it for the long haul. New TV contract is worth a fortune. They also own the Stadium, unlike most teams.

The funniest things are that the Dodger's new owners still have to deal with McCourt, and he only had to give Jaime 120 million, bet she is quite unpleasant today

You bet!

Double J doesn't have a clue how to turn Dallas back into America's Team. His freaking ego is so HUGE he can't see that being owner, GM is not working when it comes playoff time. SMH
