Browns inquired about Bradford

08:09 AM ET 03.29 | Boy, it isn't easy being Colt McCoy these days. The Browns asked the Rams about trading for quarterback Sam Bradford before turning their attention to Robert Griffin III, sources said at NFL meetings this week. The Rams said no. "His name came up, not from us," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday morning. "Clubs inquired. But there was no consideration whatsoever on our part (to trade Bradford)." Fisher would not confirm the Browns were one of the teams. "I prefer not to get into specifics about the conversations. I can say there were teams that inquired," Fisher said. This would be the second time the Browns tried to snatch Bradford. Prior to the 2010 draft, President Mike Holmgren made a last-ditch offer to move up from No. 7 to No. 1.

What would that have done for the Browns. A change of QB with the same bum WRs and O-line would equal to the same terrible season.

Only one things sucks more than being Colt McCoy right now: that damned spinny thing!

Come on, Colt. Show 'em up this year, dude!

Ol' Mike must have thought he could sneak one by the Rams....

St. Louis would be dumb as hell to even consider a trade of Sam at this point of his career. Get the kid some damn weapons and keep him healthy - he will be fine.

The Browns love Colt McCoy. He's their guy and they're comfortable going forward with him.

Just as long as nobody else is willing to play for them.

Alright Rams: you've got your draft picks, now use 'em! (ever so wisely, please)

Get Colt some blockers!

You have to surround these young QB's, like McCoy and Bradford, with talent and not be able to expect them to carry their respective teams all by themselves.

I'd like to see McCoy be successful. I agree (as I'm sure most people do) there's little that you can do without all the materials. I can't build a house with just a hammer. (I can't build a house with a lot of things but that's because I don't know how.)

Browns are lucky they did not get Bradford. I believe he's already played his best season. He's been hit on more times than a ho in Detroit.

Brownies need to fill some holes before they declare Colt a failure.....their best bet is to draft Blackmon.....

I keep seeing the arguments that Colt needs weapons which is true BUT...he also needs to show that he can play! So far, although the weapons are mediocre, he hasnt shown any ability to make Holmgren think he can be successful even with more playmakers. Thats what its all about, its not about him lighting it up now but you at least want to see the potential.

Bradford didnt exactly have stars helping him his first year but you could see the flashes every game. All he needs is weapons, Colt just needs to hold a clipboard and be a quality backup for his career. IMO

File this under B for "BOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!"

Good point, instead of changing QBs, how about getting rid of that Lard A-S-S President Holmgren!!

Colt McCoy is the next David Carr. Another promising young quaterback whose career could be ruined due to a lack of support.
