08:04 AM ET 03.30 | After watching the quarterback for nearly two decades, David Cutcliffe is no stranger to Peyton Manning. And after orchestrating Manning's workouts from the time the quarterback was cleared by doctors to resume throwing and when Manning signed his contract with the Broncos last week, Cutcliffe saw enough to confidently be able to tell Denver fans that Manning will be just fine. Manning missed all of 2011 while recovering from the three surgeries performed on his neck in the past year. "He could play a game. We've done it, we've simulated games, and he's done well. He's going to do nothing but get stronger and going to play up to his standards," Cutcliffe said Thursday in a phone interview with The Denver Post.

Manning is awesome in Madden 09.

Not too shabby in '10, either.

Dammit!!!

How was he when he was hit?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

His arm will probably be ready to fall off by the time next season kicks off.

A lot remains to be seen but I would like to see him shove it down Irsay's throat.

Gotta justify spending the money - talk is real cheap - just saying it doesn't make it so - just look at Donovan McFlab

Hate to say it but he is not going to make through his contract. The neck will not hold up to all of these hits. And the hits are coming.

Many people do well in simulated environments, does not mean they will do well when reality hits them from the Blind Side. I think Manning will do OK, but Denver as a team won't make the playoffs.

He should have stayed retired. One big hit ... that's all it's going to take. I'm curious who all will be lining up, to be 'The Guy', who sent Peyton into retirement.

one question,.... do these simulated games have 350# linemen sacking him??? That will be the acid test of his neck issues.

It'll be an interesting conversation we're having one year from now...

No bounties, please.

Manning thriving in simulated games

Are those sex games, or football games?

I think his wife will want to know.

simulated games? Madden? I wonder if performing well in simulated games is anything like Tannehill performing well under no pass rush on a pro day...
