08:25 AM ET 04.02 | If (when?) Rick Nash is sent packing from Columbus, the Blue Jackets will lose their longtime captain. There are handful of candidates to replace him. R.J. Umberger, Derek Dorsett, Vinny Prospal and James Wisniewski deserve mention, as does Jack Johnson, who has emerged as a much-needed leader on the blue line since he was acquired from the Los Angeles Kings in a trade for Jeff Carter last month. Johnson has said and done all the right things since his arrival. Fans have taken a fast shine to him and he has, by all accounts, been good for 'the room.' "He's done a great job coming in," Blue jackets interim coach Todd Richards said. "There is leadership there, without question."

Doesn't mean much right now, but they are gonna have to win consistently in the Central to make PO anytime in the future.
4 of 5 teams in the Central likely to make PO this year, and I predict the Western conf winner comes out of the Central.
