08:16 AM ET 04.03 | Georgia-bound Jordan Jenkins offers an insightful look at high-stakes recruiting, including a story Will Muschamp may not enjoy. Q: What was the funniest thing a college coach said to you? "This wasn't meant to be as insulting as it sounds. When coach Gene Chizik was comparing Auburn and Alabama, he put up a slide that showed they had more wins, more this and that ... then he started talking about Florida and how Will Muschamp follows in his shoes. I started busting out laughing. He said 'When I was at Auburn the first time [as an assistant] and after I left, Muschamp came here. Then I was at Texas and after I left, Muschamp came there.' He went on and on. He said 'Muschamp just follows in my footsteps' and it was hilarious the way he said it."

It doesn't sound like Chizik took a jab at Mush it sounds like he found a way to make folks laugh.
Here's the best part of the AJC article:
AJC: "If you could give one piece of advice to a high school junior about recruiting, what would it be?"
Jenkins: ???It would be Don???t ever read the message boards about you ..."

I was never sold on Chizik or Muschamp. Chizik's Iowa State encounter was worse than the guy before or after him. Muschamp was okay at UTx as an assistant but I'm not sure his skill set transfers to the HC job. JMO.

We will see this year. Success in the second year is crucial at a major program. Without it you become a lame duck in your second complete recruiting cycle and third year on the field.

IMO, Pease's performance will determine whether Mus has a future or not at UF. And that performance improvement needs to be sooner rather than later, the patience level of UF fandom is proven to be low.
Has anybody checked for a FireMus.com site registration yet? BSB?

UF bought all the good ones up when they hired him.
I am waiting for OB game to see if there is improvement on all 3 sides of the ball. Last years offensive performance mirrored the season.

Somebody has to win the "minor" sports. That is why we have Kentucky, South Carolina, Duke, Kansas, Connecticut, etc., etc. :-)

I'm sure that it really impresses employers when you put on your job application how many national championships Bama has won.
