08:03 AM ET 04.05 | Michael Floyd has spent his offseason putting some questions to rest, beginning with the NFL combine. [After] posting a 4.47 40 in Indy (at 6-3, 220), and following that up with another solid workout on Tuesday at the Notre Dame pro day ... he should come off the board early on the opening night of the draft. No question the game tape should be used as the ultimate grading tool for any prospect, but these pre-draft workouts in Indy and back on campus are held for a reason. Another opportunity for prospects to improve their stock and pass the "eye test" in front of scouts, coaches and GMs. And when it comes to NFL offense, look at what clubs are searching for from the WR position: inside breaking concepts, matchups outside of the numbers and third downs.

He needs to go to a team that provides a "Sober Cab".

Always risky to take a WR that high.

He'll probably be the second WR chosen, after Blackmon.

+1, but maybe not the top 10

Puuhhhlease! The only difference between this guy and almost every other college student is that he got caught. In any event, he has taken a lot of different steps to get back on the right track. He was a beast at ND, and he'll be a beast in the pros. I would like to see him to go to Denver so Manning has someone to throw to.

There are a lot of great mid round receivers out there and same goes for RB's. If my top need was a WR/RB I would trade down and get my player at cheaper price.

Yes. And he would absolutely be the WR I would take first in this draft.
He is prototype NFL WR. Offense matters and QB not withstanding, he is the best offensive weapon on the board. Period. Time will show that to be true.

All I know is that the actual draft is completely different than Mayock's predictions and all the rest of the Morons at NFL.COM...

Don't read too much into that 40-time. He's not a burner on the football field, but he's an all-around great receiver who destroys press coverage and has outstanding hands. I'd pick him over Blackmon personally.

Yep. Not quite sure how Blackmon has shot ahead of him on the draft board, but this kid will end up being the best WR to come out of this draft.

I never understand the comments about taking a WR or a RB that high in the draft. Then who? A kicker? Not everybody needs a QB or a left tackle. For every bust, there's another guy at that position who isn't. If you need to fill a position and there's a top talent at that position available, take him.

Floyd has off-the-field issues - one drunk driving conviction - and that has scared teams. He was low on the radar until recently. His talents are considerable however.

Should add that there is some sense, too, about his work-ethic and how he'd mesh. Some talk had him becoming another WR diva. Time will tell.

I'd take Marvin McNutt in the later rounds and smile as he becomes the more polished and productive WR of this class. For a bargain.
