08:10 AM ET 04.05 | Dream big, Portland. [Before Wednesday's game, Larry Miller] had a cat-ate-the-canary smile. Earlier in the day, he said he made "progress" on his search for a general manager. He spoke with a big-name candidate, and arranged a face-to-face interview for later in the week. He also has another interview lined up this week with a different candidate. ... [Miller] said the current management team has a plan for this summer, and the plan is to instantly transform the Blazers back into a contender. There will be no rebuilding project. No plan to take years off from the playoffs. The top priority is finding a point guard. Then finding a center. "We are dreaming big," Miller said. So think Steve Nash. Think Deron Williams. Think Roy Hibbert. Brook Lopez.

When did Roy Hibbert and Brook Lopez get good enough to be mentioned with Steve Nash and Deron Williams?

I doubt D Will has any interest in the cursed franchise. No offense to Portland but since Bowie just injuries injuries injuries."the big 3 that never was" should be a testament.Roy,Aldridge and Oden were suppose to be a beast in the west. They hardly played a full season together, infact they didn't.Then the Wallace trade, then he gets traded to Jersey....Now Portland is in rebuild mode.Crawford and Felton are surely gone next season, leaving Aldridge to carry the weight on his shoulders yet again.

Crawford and Felton aren't very good and don't play the roles needed in Portland. A real PG will be able to work with Aldridge. To call them cursed is a bit harsh (Oden's knee problems were well known); perhaps they're just blinded by promising centers. Also, they should hire all of Phoenix's doctors.

Where's the story here?

It must be Isiah Thomas.

Yeah just like that they'll hire this guy sign that guy, those people have no say if they're going there just snap your fingers and PRESTO ! we're contenders again

Good call! I was saying this a couple of years ago in regards to the Boston Celtics when I noticed how often players were getting hurt and oftentimes with the same type of injuries. I said, unequivocally, that the Phoenix Suns Training and Conditioning team was the best at getting athletes back on the floor and healthy. I mean come on... They revived Grant Hill's career (for what it's worth), kept a gimpy Steve Nash on 22's, helped Shaq get healthy and reinvigorated Vince Carter. Shouldn't someone be paying attention to this?

Yes the team is rebuilding mode. And Blazer fans are happy that the team is rebuilding and not acting like the team is going to contend for the title. And Portland can turn it around quickly if they play their cards right. I hope everything falls into place for them. But here are some things that can help them out.

1. This summer Portland will have tons of money to spend. Just spend it right and not some player that's not going to help the team win now and in the future. Every off season there's a free agent that gets more money they're worth. If you can't get one or two bing name players. Don't blow the money. Sign a player to a one or two year deal and try again.

2. The way things are going Portland could have 2 draft picks in this years draft. Theirs and maybe the one from New Jersey. The one from the Nets all depends if they don't get pick #1, #2, or #3. If Portand gets the one from the Nets and with their pick should be in the top 10. And this years draft is going to be a deep one.

Portland can turn it around quickly. But they need a little help and a lot of luck. And the Blazers haven't had much luck these last 4 years.

Who wants to play for those snake-bit Blazers?

Cursed? Portland has been one of the most successful franchises in NBA history. Just look at their all time winning %. Only 5 franchises have a better winning % than Portland. And guess what. Miami isn't one of them. Neither is Chicago or New York or Philly. In fact Portland has spent years beating down your team in your own city. 18-5 all time in Miami. So once again these Miami heat fans have proved that they know nothing about the NBA or its history and are just a bunch of moronic bandwagon bootlickers.
