08:02 AM ET 04.05 | So long, Amobi Okoye? If Phil Emery's efforts to upgrade the offense in his first run through free agency haven't been indication enough the Bears likely will focus on defense in the draft, a tidbit he shared Wednesday night points further in that direction. The Bears have hoped to re-sign [Okoye] but speaking on a conference call with season-ticket holders, the general manager said the defensive tackle likely is headed elsewhere. "Right now, Amobi is trying to decide which direction he is going," Emery said. "We've had conversations with him. So far, we have not been able to work out a deal. Amobi is probably going in a different direction." Okoye has drawn interest from the Bengals, Buccaneers, Broncos and Patriots.

Like I said yesterday.....they're too busy trying to patch up the D. If they don't get some O-line help, Cutler is gonna get killed.

I remember when this guy was first drafted. Everybody raved about him.

Guy still has potential to be something in this league. Can play 3-4 end or 4-3 DT. Heck he could even play as a big 4-3 end. Bengals or Pats would be the best fit for him.

The Draft experts make everyone look like Joe Montana & LT on draft day, in the meantime they were clueless with Jason Pierre Paul, they said they Giants were taking a chance, and I don't think they knew who Tom Brady was, all they did was boast how smart Chad Pennington was! Go Figure!

Yeah the main thing they raved about him was that he was only like 19 or something. That he joined college and played for the school at like 16 and was being drafted as one of the youngest players ever. Other than that it was a fairly average assessment as to what his future could be as far as I recall.

Amobi is probably going in a different direction.
