08:26 AM ET 04.06 | This has been a tough week for the Penguins' image. For the second time in three games an opposing coach has a problem with the way the Pittsburgh Penguins play hockey. Following Pittsburgh's 5-2 win against the New York Rangers Thursday night, Rangers coach John Tortorella left few to wonder his opinion of the Penguins or defenseman Brooks Orpik, who hit Rangers forward Derek Stepan with a knee late in the third period. His comments sounded rather similar to those made by Flyers coach Peter Laviolette Sunday. "It's one of the most arrogant organizations in the league," Tortorella said. ... "It's a cheap, dirty hit. I wonder what would happen if we did it to their two whining stars over there."

I will say that a Crosby photo in a headline with "Arrogant, Whining" Pens is that unintentional funny that is so great.

I don't even know what to say to this nonsense.

It was a dirty hit. Stepan had gotten around him and Orpik stuck his knee out.

I saw the replay of that...you're right...this wasn't an "oh my bad" type hit....this was dirty. Orpik should get 3-5 games but it's my bet he doesn't with the playoffs starting....probably one game

If you whine about whining are you to a whiner or is it like a double negative.

"It was pretty gutless and dirty," said Biron, who got his first start in the last 11 games. "It crossed my mind to go all the way down [towards Orpik after leaving the net on the delayed penalty]."That guy is known for sticking his knee out and his elbow out. It???s what he???s done his entire career. He will continue to do this unless someone can stop him with a suspension. Hopefully these are the hits that won???t be in the game much longer because they are dangerous."

Blats in the headline? It's spelled "Blatz". I'm from Milwaukee and I ought to know...

Total nonsense.

I hope Stepan is okay.

Pens' players have been hit with injuries all year (some dirty/some not), and Bylsma did not go to the podium to bash the player who did it, or their teammates.

If Torts wants to be mad about the hit, I have no problem with that, and he could have directed his comments/anger towards that incident and Orpik.

However, his "whining stars" comment, assuming he is talking about Geno and Crosby, are out of line. You would need to get a translator to hear Malkin whine about anything. Say what you want about him otherwise, but whine?

Kind of a shame when a coach talks about players respecting each other (which I agree with), but you can't get the coaches to respect the players. Crosby and Malkin had NOTHING to do with this particular play, and had a very clean game.

Since this will turn into another bloodbath, and Pens and their fans bashing, I am going to bow out early, but not before wishing those who celebrate it, a Happy Easter.

Those who don't: Have a good weekend.

All I'll say on this is this;

Sometimes, you are what they say you are. Seems that there is a lot of chatter about this lately. Just because Malkin didn't go headhunting or spear anyone in the groin in this particular game, that does not give him a pass.

Plus, Torts is speaking to the perceived double standard with Pittsburgh. They seem to get away with a lot. As far as the injury angle, please. Stepan's season is likely over now. Show me 1 Penguin player who's season was ended with a dirty hit.

without question. If Orpik doesn't get at least 5 games for this, I will be slightly less than surprised. I first thought he was trying to plant, but upon further review...he stuck his leg out. And say what you like about Torts and his ranting and seemingly daily anyeurisms...he's right about this to a point. I can't speak to the "arrogance" as he called it, (though I would actually almost understand it. They are a really good team) but as far as what would happen if someone did that to Geno or Sid so puposely?
