Will Ozzie's Castro comments cost him Marlins job?

09:05 AM ET 04.08 | In an upcoming article in Time, Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is quoted as saying, "I love Fidel Castro. . . I respect Fidel Castro. You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill Fidel Castro for the last 60 years, but that [expletive] is still there." Maybe it was Ozzie just being flip. But the fact that he is the manager in a city that has the largest population of Cuban-American anywhere in the world underscores what surely must be suicidal thoughts. If those comments go viral in Little Havana, Guillen might be out of a job the first week of the season.

Not everyone in Miami hates Castro.

Fired? It would score him an extension mabey. This will only make him more popular with anti establishment minorities in America. Anything said to buck Whitey's system will be well received. Ozzie also says it should have been Castro to throw out the first pitch in Miami

Who cares. Seriously. He is a baseball manager.

Give him a few months, he will say a lot dumber things then that. Might not take that long.

You have a tenuous understanding of the demographics in Miami.

Really? I guess that's why he will breeze right through this one with little more than a half baked apology and his fair share of allowed ignorance due to the fact that he is merely from Venezuela. People who come from there are not required to know any better and will not be held accountable for anything stupid they may say. This alone will insure his ability to laugh this one off without too much trouble.
