Tide now more prepared for repeat

08:19 AM ET 04.09 | What does it take to repeat? After Alabama won a national championship in 2009, it knew what it wanted to do the following season. Repeat. The Crimson Tide didn't know how to do it, because the experience was new to every player on the roster. The experience wasn't new to Alabama coach Nick Saban, who won a national championship in 2003 at LSU. He told the Crimson Tide to focus on playing to a high standard. ... Saban repeated and repeated and repeated the message, to no avail. The Tide lost three games in 2010. And now here Alabama is coming off the 2011 national championship. It knows what it wants this season. Repeat. And this time, it knows how to do it, because it has a roster full of players who have experienced how not to do it.

Of course they are ready. Saban has his smurf suit on.

LOL. They know how to do it because they know how not to do it. Sound logic and great reporting.

I was out of town for the holiday. Did something happen in pigland?

Did WPS and King have to symbolically hang on a cross this weekend?

He's not all that great, but yeah, he's the Alabama beat writer. What's the paper that always runs down Florida? Yeah, just like that paper.

Not yet, but CBP is on administrative leave, unless something has changed. I think he'll be reinstated.

If it were me, I'd suspend his for 3 games and cut his pay 1 million and redo his contract. But, hey, I'm not an AD, am I?

The Orlanda Fishwrapper - uhh, I mean Sentinel.

Orlando Sentinel has two UF beat writers. One that bashes UF, the other is the homer.

Probably correct. I'd like to see him take a bigger hit than that, though - that's less suspension time than what the Vest got.

Hardly....

Anyone seen LUS around? I lost a bet to him and I need to pay up. Kinda scared about what my name/avi is going to be for the week with the current Arky scandal, but a bet's a bet.

Nothing is hanging here.....except the coach's fate. Still no word from the hill

Selfishly, I would be OK with this. Dude didn't lie to the NCAA or to the police, but he did to his boss. The problem is the hiring of the lady he was involved with (over other applicants who have a valid law suit against the U of A as well). Infidelity isn't the issue, litigiation and liability for the school is.

IMO, this threat of litigation may be his undoing. I'm starting to get the feel that he will be terminated.

If I was the Arky AD, I would can his arse. Not for cheating on his wife with a 25 year he just hired, but that he lied about it. In this age of compliance and risk management, you need to know the truth to mitigate issues.

Once a liar, always a liar. What else is Petrino hiding from the AD? NCAA potential violations...

You in deep <hit there WPS. LUS is cruel as hell when it comes to the avi/moniker stuff! Ruthless I say, ruthless!
