Less urgency in the Bronx?

08:16 AM ET 04.09 | Fear not, Yankees fans. The last time a Yankees team opened a season with three straight losses, they went on to win more games than any team had ever won in the American League before capturing the first of three straight World Series. The Yankees may very well turn things around starting Monday, but this isn't 1998 -- and it has nothing to do with the players taking the field. David Cone calls it the "Boss factor," and it's no longer a part of the Yankees' universe. "There's less sense of urgency," Cone said. "Less of that desperate feeling that things could change in a hurry around here." ... Who knows if things would be different if The Boss were still around.

I hate to say it, but the cream rises to the top. Baseball is a long season. Something tells me the Yanks (and Sox) will win more games than they lose this year... :P

Something tells me I should buy an apple fritter this morning.

Honestly, Tampa Bay is the best team in the division. Starting pitching and enough hitting to get it done.
Hate the two wildcard system, but it is what may get the Yankees or Red Sox in.

Let's just hope that it's not sour cream.

How 'bout those Rays? A sweep over the Yanks to open the season. Gotta love that! I also reallt loved Girardi giving Sean Rodgrigues an IBB so they could pitch to Carlos Pena. That piece of genious resulted in a grand slam.

Your Rays are looking good. Moore will give me two starts this upcoming week. Should be good.

Not a great start for us going 0-3 against the Rays, and the Sox have gotten rocked by the Tigers and are sitting at the bottom with us. We'll get better as we go I'm sure but maybe David Cone is right about the lack of urgency without George around to go nuts once in a while. The boys seemed more concerned about getting the payroll down.

Luckily for the Sox and Yanks, this is not the NFL. You start 0-3 in the NFL, you're probably done.

The lineup is little shaky due to injury, but the pitching staff looks good. We'll see how they fare in Detroit next.

the angels are forgeting the basics, no discipline, no patience at the plate, no idea how to work out the count against the opposite pitcher, no team work at all!!!
