Is Derrick Rose a spare part?

08:06 AM ET 04.10 | Only a year removed from his MVP campaign, Derrick Rose is more the subject of injury headlines in 2012. The Bulls are Rose's team. Yet somehow, it hasn't mattered that he has been out for over a third of this season. While pundits and Bulls fans obsess about the status of Rose's toe, back and groin -- injuries have benched him for 22 games so far -- his teammates have helped power Chicago to a 43-14 record, best in the NBA. ... While last season's team was reliant on Rose -- ultimately to its detriment -- this year's edition isn't. What Chicago's backups and supporting cast have done in Rose's absence this season is arguably unprecedented in league history.

If he is a spare part, then he can come to Cleveland or NY.

QUOTE(#2):

I tried to tell everyone that coach Thibs was the big difference last year. Everyone kept insisting it was Rose. It should clear how much impact Thibs had in Chicago.

Nobody disputed that, Thibs is huge to that team, but he is not the sole reason for their success.

Wrong. Everyone on here insisted the turnaround was because of Rose.

That??s true, MMA. Rose got most the credit last year. (granted, he was the MVP) Thibs is a GREAT coach and is proving that even more this year. Not to take anything away from Rose...hes obviously a great player....but Thibs is the glue

Rose was the entire offense, so yes he got a great deal of credit, but Thibs earned every bit of that COY award, and his defense along with balanced scoring this year is a major part of their success.
