08:13 AM ET 04.10 | Yes, Bruce Bochy understands that Giants fans want to know why Brandon Belt isn't in the lineup. Bochy sat Belt on Monday in the wake of a 1-for-10, five-strikeout series in Arizona. Aubrey Huff started at first base and Gregor Blanco replaced him in the outfield. When reporters kept peppering Bochy with questions about the Belt decision, he pushed back slightly. "I think we're overstating this a little bit. He's getting a day," Bochy said. ... Bochy has expressed his commitment to playing Belt, but the second-year player admitted in a meeting with Bochy that he might have pressed in the season-opening series. Bochy decided to give Belt two days to step back and regroup.

Hey, a young player...an EXPERIENCED manager (who played) who understands young players. Why not TRUST Bochy and let him get Belt ready to play? Better to slowly get him in the groove vs. a horrible April and maybe sending him to AAA to regain confidence. Give Bochy and Belt a chance....

Belt slept with Bochy. That is the only explanation I have of this situation.

sending him to AAA to regain confidence.

i think this would be the wise move, you can't keep a player you can't hit and starts to fail at every depth as its offense, deffense, and skills!!!

Loosen the Belt a few notches.

Uh, this is Brandon Belt, not Lou Gehrig. He is NOT an established major league hitter, and Bochy has the responsibility to his team to play whomever can help get W's. Belt had a HIDEOUS three games and EARNED a 'rest'.
