Vultures circling Trombo again

08:11 AM ET 04.11 | Albert Pujols has displaced the sometimes embattled Mark Trumbo, both as the Angeles top slugger and as a their first baseman. Four games into 2012, the vultures are circling again, questioning whether the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Trumbo can make the difficult transition from first base to third base, a move necessitated by the signing of Albert Pujols. Trumbo, 26, has given them plenty of ammunition, committing three errors in his first two starts at third and prompting questions about whether the Angels are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. But neither Trumbo nor the Angels are ready to give up on an experiment that, if successful, will get Trumbo's powerful bat into the lineup more often.

This experiment will end poorly. Miguel Cabrera on the other hand has looked surprisingly good so far in the regular season.

Give the man a chance.........Four games does not a season make...........

the angels had being given enough chances to trumbo, but we all knew that he wouldn't fit well in the third base why?? well he has never play no other spot than first base, other than the DH spot, the only other spot that could really give him plenty playing time,,,,,, the OF, the angels have to bench or send down mr wells to the minors, why?? because can't hit can't advance the runners, can't have conssistacy at the plate!!!

Losing weight - extra fielding practice.... amazing what that can do for performance in the bigs....

or they may had to keep eating hot dogs,,,,

abreu has being hitting much better than lazy boy vernon wells, i mean its only fair to said, abreu has being fighting for playing time, while wells hasn't even try it not even a little bit, he's game plan its in the slow motion, and you can't get better with that poor approach in the plate or in the lineup!!!

April 11, 2012  11:41 AM ET

callaspo can keep playing in the third base and he should shared that spot with speedy amarista, but trumbo should play the OF together in the mix, ABREU, BOURJO'S, HUNTER, TRUMBO, WELLS, trumbo shouldn't be playing third at all!!!

April 11, 2012  11:43 AM ET

do mike sciocia has higher expectation from the office to wards him and the GM this year?? sciocia has specified that wells its pressin way too hard ever at bat, but if its me i would send him down to the minors at least 2 weeks should be enough!!!

April 11, 2012  11:46 AM ET

morales has being doing great at the DH spot, pujols still trying to figureout how to hit home runs,,, or anybody do expect pujols to hit 39 homeruns??

April 11, 2012  11:47 AM ET

CJwilson had a good debut as a angel!!!

April 11, 2012  11:47 AM ET

walden remains shaky every time he has to close a game!!

April 11, 2012  11:48 AM ET

rodney its doing in tampa what he couldn't do it in the angels closer role!!!

April 11, 2012  11:50 AM ET

santana, haren and the anonimo's fifth starter haven't show their top skills at the starter rotation!!!

April 11, 2012  11:52 AM ET

but trumbo needs to be in the angels lineup every day, vernon wells should have learn another position, perhaps catcher??

April 11, 2012  11:54 AM ET

the angels would have their biggest test in the yankees house,, and if pujols remains lose in plate,,, then the halos would have to fix pujols or,,, send him to get a extra spring training!!!

April 11, 2012  11:56 AM ET

sometimes the halos appears to have good rotation, but they still sick and weak at their offense!!!!!
