Who's next at Arkansas?

08:15 AM ET 04.11 | With Gus Malzahn, many believe his arrival at Arkansas is a matter of "when," not "if." Without a doubt the first name to spring to mind of many Hog fans, the Natural State's native son (and, briefly, former Arkansas assistant) has been assumed to be headed for the Razorback head gig sooner or later. But this soon? ... [To] sign up for 2012, leaving his new program in the lurch after just weeks at the helm, isn't likely something the low-key Malzahn will consider. If Long wants someone permanent now, he'll likely have to look elsewhere. But if he goes the interim route, and Malzahn's Red Wolves bolster his already solid reputation? Malzahn becomes your front-runner.

Regardless... The UA folks made the correct decision.

Good for them and good for Hog fans. They deserve better than Petrino.

And LMAO if they hire Butch Davis

Is Davis an early candidate? Way to not learn your lesson at all.

Funniest thing about Petrinos statement was claiming he hoped he would be allowed to meet with the team to say goodbye. if that happens then he might want to head to Atlanta and do the same with those players.

+1

It looks like UA chose integrity over wins. That's refreshing.

How about Arkansas alumnus, Butch Davis! He's the natural selection as Arkansas' next head football coach. Arkansas really wanted him five years ago and, as a master manipulator, he can still recruit top players. Myself, a UNC alumnus, I would really like for Butch Davis to take the Arkansas job so that UNC can stop paying him not to coach!
