08:19 AM ET 04.11 | Even in the offseason, the Blue Jackets are losing, this time to the Oilers in the NHL draft lottery. Edmonton, which had an 18.8 percent chance to win the lottery, will have the No. 1 overall pick for the third straight year. Then comes Columbus, Montreal, the New York Islanders and Toronto. The Blue Jackets have taken part in 12 draft lotteries. [Tuesday] marked the sixth time they've dropped in the pecking order. They've held steady in four others, but have never improved their draft placement through the lottery. ... In 2005, after the NHL lockout, the Jackets and three other clubs had equal chances to win the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes, but Columbus ended up picking No. 6.

If Columbus really wants to rebuild they can trade Nash to the Isles for the #4 pick. They'd have two top 5 and the Isles would get the game changer they need.

Would never happen.....ever. But a man can dream!!

Nah work a three team deal, you know Burke is going to want to trade for better draft position. You gotta strike while the iron is hot, or after happy hour in this case.

I think Burkie will want to move up in the draft...too bad Columbus isn't dumb enough to take Schenn!

Is Burke dumb enough to make the same disaster of a trade twice? Wounds are still fresh from the Kessel deal and it's about to get a whole lot worse if Hamilton pans out like everyone thinks he will.

Hockey's future has him rated between all-star potential and elite talent. After this year, he may be rated as "elite" for next year.

From what I was watching last night (and I'm not prospect guru) seemed like the top 5 guys were pretty good and then there was a drop off. But what the hell do I know?

I actually felt horrible for CBJ when that venomous slime said "Edmonton" and Tambo had that disgusting smirk on his face. How much worse can it possibly get..

Yeah a part of me felt like it was fixed. Poor Columbus.

yeah great. Cause that's what The Rangers want to see too...Nash and taveres together.
But Drawfus Horriblus might "help" that happen to keep the Isles solvent!

You gotta believe that they have to be decent someday. But they still need a Weber or somebody similar.

Don't be shocked if the Oilers trade the first pick for a lower draft pick and a solid prospect on d.
