08:03 AM ET 04.12 | Dave Tollefson is home again. Tollefson is a Walnut Creek native who went to high school at Ygnacio Valley, whose mom is a Raiders fan and who was on the Raiders' practice squad when he first came into the NFL. "It's awesome," said Tollefson, who signed a two-year, $2.5 million deal over the weekend. "I mean, I grew up here, I lived here for 22 years, come back home, my mom and my stepdad are out here, my sister, my brother and a lot of my childhood friends. ... Tollefson said he is up for playing outside, inside or even just "mow the grass." "Being a jack-of-all-trades is what I've been able to hang my hat on," Tollefson said. "They haven't promised me anything, which is what I want. That's not the style of player I am."

Whether you like the kid or not... he seems genuinely happy to be home.

Home might be where the heart is but it sure isn't where the wins are.

I had to re-read that a couple of times. I thought his mom was on the practice squad.

Solid player. Total team guy. Gonna miss him in the Giants rotation but he seems happy. Wonder if he coulda got more money going to a different team.

He seems to be more interested in getting a bigger role as a starter, than just in a rotation. Two rings tend to have that kind of effect.

Nice to read about a guy who seems grateful for his chances, happy in his situation and acts like a decent guy. I wish him every success.
