08:12 AM ET 04.12 | Terry Francona isn't yet past the way things ended in Boston, and, for that, he's passing on the club's 100th anniversary celebration. "[Larry Lucchino] called me yesterday," Francona said Tuesday. "I was in a phone store in Arizona. I had three people standing around me. I was at a little bit of a disadvantage. He got a little perturbed at me, telling me I was being unfair to them. I called him back last night and left him a message. He called me back and we ended up getting into an argument." ... "Until I'm more comfortable with some answers on what happened at the end of the year, I don't want to have much to do with the organization and that's a shame," Francona said Tuesday.

I've seen 8 year old girls behave better than all the clowns involved in this.

I guess the wounds haven't healed yet.

Francona lost control of the team, management didn't like it, Francona didn't like their approach, and we really won't know the true story of what happened.

Everyone involved just needs to grow the hell up.

At least we know the Red Sox brass is classless, right Schad?

I can't say that I blame him one iota.

Francona lost his job and IMO he should have. But the was he was attacked on his way out the door was uncalled for. As a fan I wish he would come back, so the we could show him how him much we appreciate all he???s done for this team. Plus that would really piss off Lucino when Tito gets the loudest and longest ovation of the day.

Eh, in all honesty, when relying on certain members of the Boston sports media for the info on this, I don't trust a lot of it.

Management did reach out to him to have him come back for 1 day, but Francona chose it as an opportunity to air more dirty laundry. That's pretty classless as well.

Also, it was Francona that allowed a lot of stuff to happen that embarrassed the Sox management as well. They had to answer for the whole beer in the clubhouse issues that Francona let go on.

Plenty of blame to go around.

How many others over the years have had issues that management 'covered up'? And they pick this time to throw him under the bus? While the issues that were brought out in the newspaper article were apparently real (according to a Francona interview), they didn't need to be trumpeted the way they were. Usually the Sox try to put out fires when they occur (see Manny for a number of years before the end). In this case they threw gasoline on the fire.

I'd say jet fuel.

Problem is we don't know the whole story. Tito made it pretty clear the day he resigned, he didn't feel he had the support of the owners. Who knows, maybe he tried to stop the beer in the clubhouse situation and was overuled by upper management.

Nope. Too expensive. They don't want to exceed the luxury tax.

If the Sox were 5-1 or 4-2, would this even be story right now?

Maybe they poured kerosene on the fire?

The Francona story? Absolutely.

They should have thrown John Lackey on the fire.
