Teams interested in Wallace, will Steelers listen?

Funny how that happens. I think of three teams that don't negotiate: Packers, Patriots, Steelers. They always have a way of filling their needs with the lesser knowns and letting them go if they run into contractual disputes.

Look, he has no choice but to show up and play. If he does not show up he loses the year towards UFA. Any team could have offered up a sheet to him and the Steelers could have matched it or said, nope, we will take your first round pick in return.

Malcontents and those who hold, out historically do not last long with the Steelers, he has Jets written all over his future, Holmes tried this and the Super bowl MVP was traded for a fifth round pick...(the suspension and off field antics didn't help his case)

Any team could have signed him to an offer sheet, but from all reports, not a single team was close to doing so. Wallace has lost pretty much any leverage he had. The Steelers typically do not overpay for their players and likely won't do so here. Their receiving corps, while better with Wallace, would still be good with Brown, Sanders and Cotchery.

I do believe they would. This isn't Brown out of Cincinnati. Value can easily diminish with work ethic and holding out is attributable to work ethic.

He really has no choice. The Steelers are restricted in what they can pay this year because of cap limitations. He can choose not sign the tender and can sit out the year, but that will cost him a year in getting to UFA status I believe. This "attitude" thing does not go over well in Pittsburgh (see Holmes and Burris). The mature thing for him to do would be play for $2.7M this year and go for the big payday next year with the Steelers or elsewhere. While he is a good player, I think he thinks more of himself than others think of him. I mean we are not talking about Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald here. The worse thing he can do is hold out or come in and give it a half-hearted effort. He needs to understand that he is playing this year for the big contract in the future.

Wouldn't mind getting a 1st for him and using it to fill needs at OL, LB or CB.

Receiving corps. is in good hands with Sanders, Brown, Cotchery and Miller.

What teams want this fellow? Could the 'Skins afford to try and go for him?

Really surprised nobody has offered him a contract. He can put some teams over the top. Dude is good.

Everyone is replaceable. If he doesn't appreciate where he is, ship him.
