Kings snipe at Canucks on Twitter

08:23 AM ET 04.13 | There are lots of third rails these days in Vancouver, from Byron Bitz, to the Kings' official Twitter account, to the notion they aren't popular among Canadians. The shot fired across the Canucks' bow by the @LAKings official account after the Kings' 4-2 victory Wednesday -- "To everyone in Canada outside BC, you're welcome" -- might be the toughest one to swallow, because of course, it goes to the heart of what their harshest critics believe to be the Canucks' fatal flaw: too many yapping Max Lapierres and flopping Ryan Keslers, and embellishers all around. Kesler didn't exactly help his argument Wednesday, when ... he spent far too much time on the ice in a prone position.

Flopping Ryan Kesler? The Sun missed the biggest floppers on the team, the Sedin's.

But anyway, I'd like to thank the Vancouver Sun for pointing out the obvious.

this is actually quite hilarious to me. So now are they going to try to play the "Oh Poor Us, no one likes us" card?

Whatever Kesler was trying to sell in game 1 the ref's weren't buying. Hopefully that set's the tone for the rest of the playoffs where diving to draw calls is concerned.

Agreed. It would be a lot easier to watch them if they just played hockey and dropped the theatrics. That having been said, I agree with Spiny too. The tweet was hysterical.

The same thing happened in the SCF last year, after bite-gate and the Rome cheap-shot. The Sedins kept diving, and it finally got to the point where the ref's were just sick of it and stopped calling it.

In game 3, which was that 8-1 blowout by the Bruins, the Canucks got 8 powerplays. That's almost 1/3 of the game spent on the powerplay. That's nuts.

As long as it works, they'll keep doing it though.

Post of the week. It's funny, it's true, it's funny because it's true

April 13, 2012  09:32 AM ET

That is funny....now I'm rooting for LA even more.

April 13, 2012  09:32 AM ET

They found the tweet hilarious in Toronto and Edmonton, simce their teams forgot what the playoffs are for the last decade.

April 13, 2012  09:47 AM ET

So true. Easily the most hate-able club in the NHL.

Rooting huge for the Kings.

April 13, 2012  09:47 AM ET

ef the tweet. richards owned those 2 floppy beatches - alex and ryan.

it seemed all to natural for him - almost as if he were retreating to his warm and fuzzy place?

Same old, same old.

But every news show in town had it as one of their lead stories.

In my opinion, Tweets are for Twits.

Living out east I dont get to see them much, but my son stays up to watch them and have hated them for years and I could never understand why.

He would always tell me "Dad, if you watched them play, you would hate them too." He was right

They are definitely the most despised team in the NHL for their style of play, which was on full display in the SC Finals against the B's.

If you got to see them play every game like I can you would really, really dislike them.
