Witten explains Romo's vacation

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was well aware that everyone knew where he spent the weekend. And as "the other guy" in pictures spread across the Internet featuring quarterback Tony Romo and actress/singer Jessica Simpson, Witten didn't feel compelled to defend himself in the face of the hysteria. He and Romo, close friends and roommates on road trips, went to Mexico to get away for a couple of days. "Just in general, all of us were all able to get away and just enjoy that break," he said. "Really, you have to do that, get away from the circus here and worrying about tickets and all that's going on with the playoffs. And then, come back ready and refreshed."

Ready and refreshed? When i come back from Mexico, I'm usually hung over and wearing a sombrero....

January 8, 2008  07:54 AM ET

and if I were there with Jessica Simpson, I'd be a little tired from all the "work" I'd be putting in as well...

This is STUPID! Pour it on EVERY team! Everyone wants to talk crap.......Romo, MAKE IT RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 8, 2008  07:55 AM ET

It would seem Romo has himself two outstanding tight ends. Well done.

I hope he focused on running some "deep" routs. We really need help there after the flat play in recent weeks. the joke opportunities here are endless.

Seriously, articles like this just prove that there are way too many press outfits covering sports. These people should get a real job and report on something that matters.

And, with that being said, I should get a life and stop reading and responding to this crap. I spend way too much sight on a site that is 99% rumors and 1% truth.

Funny 50yearfan.

So, basically this means if we lose, Jessica Simpson better go into hiding.

I dont think tom brady is hanging out in mexico before the playoffs. Im sure Tom would love to go on vacation with his hotter than Jsimp super model girlfriend but he's too busy you know preparing for the games.. when dallas loses to the giants i can already hear T.O tear into Romo...

January 8, 2008  08:14 AM ET

Why does it matter if Romo takes a little vacation during the week he's allowed to do so?

January 8, 2008  08:20 AM ET

Tom Brady is too busy changing diapers to go on vacation. Does the boy know what a condom looks like?

January 8, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Romo continue with what you're doing. Party it up. Please.

January 8, 2008  08:29 AM ET

Good call Big Papi. Why does it matter...? The game is just as mental if not more than physical. Living in the Dallas area, there's a certain level of arrogance with 'Boys right now. Where it comes from, I don't know. They haven't won a thing yet and they dropped 2 of their last 3 games in spectacular fashion. Not to mention, Romo stunk it up big time in those games. I think it would be better served to stick around the practice facility getting mentally and physically ready for a playoff game than vacationing in Mexico. It's a lack of maturity and professionalism, which is in part, why the Pats accomplished what they did this year. They get it. When the Giants do win, just wait for all the fair weather fans in Dallas to start whinning and complaining.

Whatever Packer Nation. Whatever. Arrogance wins championships. Sort of like the 5 we already have. And don't forget who owned **** this season. Bring it on Packers. You haven't won in Dallas and you never will. And talk about stinking up the place, how's Chicago been treating ya? So much for your own field advantage. Hahahahahaha!!!

January 8, 2008  08:36 AM ET

I can't believe the site blocked "your b.u.t.t." OK, we owned your hindquarters.

January 8, 2008  08:38 AM ET

Packer Nation,

After the last Packer/Bears game, Packer fans should be the last ones discussing "Stinking it Up". Of course, your team knows all about that,

January 8, 2008  08:40 AM ET

No Ferrell1, just ask Giants fans after Dallas put up 76 points on them this year. They know all about disappointment. After all, they have the lesser Manning.
