09:06 AM ET 04.15 | Aggies scrimmaged for over an hour and all eyes were on the quarterbacks trying to win the starting spot in Kevin Sumlin's new offensive scheme. Though the talk has been about a four quarterback battle it appears two have emerged as the leaders for the top spot. Redshirt sophomore Jameill Showers and redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel virtually split time at Saturday's scrimmage but it was Showers who stole the show. Showers threw in seven series with both the first and second team throwing for over 150 yards with two touchdowns and an interception on a dropped pass. Showers showed tremendous touch throwing the football downfield and made good decisions throughout the day. He looked like the more experience of the two quarterbacks with his poise and control the entire scrimmage.

How long will it take for the kids to adjust to the new offensive scheme?

WPS, convinced now, we took the series, at your house, should have had a sweep.

On golf...

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- With four Longhorns finishing among the top 10 after 36 holes of action at the Western Intercollegiate, the No. 1 Texas Men's Golf team holds an eight-stroke lead entering Sunday's final round and is poised to win its seventh tournament of the 2011-12 season.

You are looking very good this year. Have some strong pitching from what I've seen.

JRM74 - You are a big talker behind that keyboard of yours. Why don't you worry about how the Longhorns are going to do this year and keep the insults to yourself? This was a story about A&M's QB situation, not a request for childlike name calling from people who say they don't even consider A&M to be a real rival. I'm not expecting my Aggies to do very well this year, but I'm confident we'll get better with time and experience in the SEC.

An aggie homer! Good to have you. Hang around a while so things can liven up a little around here. JRM actually compliments the aggies on their academic prowess...just rags the hell out of 'em for their "zany" traditions! Having several good friends that are aggies, I've got to agree with him when it comes to their "cultish" stuff.
