Fenway faithful turning on Valentine

08:09 AM ET 04.19 | It's early, of course, but Bobby Valentine can't seem to push the right buttons in Boston. [A week after blaming himself for sticking with left-handed reliever Justin Thomas, he] made a similar choice, leaving lefty Franklin Morales in against a right-handed hitter in the eighth inning, even though righty Matt Albers was warming in the bullpen. Once again, the decision backfired. Morales gave up a two-run double to Mike Napoli, just like Thomas allowed a two-run single to the Blue Jays' J.P. Arencibia. ... When Valentine finally made the slow walk to the mound, a sellout crowd at Fenway Park let him know it didn't approve. "I was booing myself," Valentine said. "It didn't work out."

Note to Bobby V...

Napoli kills left handed pitching.

To be fair, Ranger hitters have been clobbering everybody these days. The manager is limited by his bullpen options and this BoSox team simply doesn't look as dominant as previous incarnations.

I wondered why Beckett tried pitching to him earlier when the count went 2-0, especially with the two stiffs behind Napoli. Snyder looked absolutely silly last night.

"It's early, of course, but ... Yes, it's still early ... but ... when will it not be early any more, and when will this team get itsshiit together?? I do not want to lose faith in the Red Sox, but it's getting harder and harder to remain optimistic. Something's gotta give!

"Something's gotta give!"

If they keep playing the way they have been, it's likely to be my aorta.

The Red Sox just don't match up well with the Rangers at all.

Would he have changed his mind if the Red Sox were doing well under Bobby Valentine?

That is a good question. I for one am happy he is going to be there.

I'm not sure ownership can feel anything.
