Pistons walk line between tinkering and tanking

08:07 AM ET 04.20 | The definition may lie in the eye of the beholder, and, in this case, Detroit coach Lawrence Frank says he's tinkering, not tanking. It's a fine line semantically and a vast crevice professionally, the latter of which he doesn't care to bridge. The Pistons won by a season-high 39 points Tuesday against Cleveland, only to lose by a season-high 32 points Wednesday in Atlanta. Detroit used an altered lineup in Wednesday's 116-84 loss, with Austin Daye starting at small forward and extensive minutes given to backup big man Vernon Macklin. Daye struggled and Tayshaun Prince will return to the starting lineup [Thursday]. ... "It takes a whole team to play, and by and large, there were very few bright spots in that game."

I don't know how you can call it tanking when they just beat the Cav's by 50pts and took the Bulls into OT.

I bet brass wish they could go back in time and stop themselves from signing Villanueva and Gordon.... those two players weren't even close to deserving those huge contracts they got....

Here's another dumb article from another dumb writer. And this one is excessively dumb. A team that has a 60 point won-lost swing isn't tanking: It's unreliable, unorganized, and simply bad. There's a b-i-g difference between that and taking the 1906 Chicago Black Sox route of outright cheating and scandal.
I've read that lousy writers invent garbage to bring attention to themselves. I smell an attention-seeking rat here who invents controversy when there's none naturally there.
Nothing getting a real job wouldn't fix, thought...As long as it didn't take intellect and composition skills.
