Goodell: No implied threats on Vikings move

09:37 AM ET 04.21 | It's happening again, conjecture that an NFL team is headed to Los Angeles. This time, it's the Minnesota Vikings, although NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell insisted Friday that neither the team nor the league has raised that possibility. "There were no implied threats or any threats at all," Goodell told reporters outside the office of Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton. "What we talked about is the importance of creating a solution here." That isn't likely to calm the frayed nerves of Vikings fans, whose team has spent the past decade searching for a stadium solution. The latest plans hit the skids Monday, when the club's bid for a $975-million stadium ??? more than half of which would be publicly funded ??? died in a state House committee. Late Friday, Vikings spokesman Jeff Anderson said on Twitter that the stadium bill passed in the Senate Local Government Committee by an 8-6 vote. The revived bill now moves to the Jobs and Economic Growth Committee.

If they move, will that affect the division they're currently in?

What tangled webs Wilf weaves. Zygi's favorite song? "Should I stay or should I go."

This means a move to LA is certain.

Who cares? LA had 2 teams at one time and didn't support them so why would any team want to go there?

Beaches, sunny weather, beautiful women, etc. etc. etc. Way better than South Beach.

Ha! All Goodell had to say - and the ONLY thing he had to say - was "Anybody here ever heard of the Minneapolis Lakers?"

If the Vikes move they would probably switch places with St. Louis and give them a much better chance each year of making the playoffs in the weak NFC West.

I'm not telling you where gonna move the team, it's just that we'd like to know about the Status of da New Stadium?

Yep, easy fix. Move them to the NFC West and move St. Louis to the NFC North.

That stadium fell apart a few years ago and was patchworked. The NFL said over a decade ago after their engineers went through there, the Vikings need a new stadium. In a decade they have tried to get a new stadium. Hate teams moving, but if the Twins, Wild and Wolves can get new places why not the institution that has been there forever?

I see the LA Vikings not so far off.
