08:37 AM ET 04.22 | The Atlanta Falcons will not appear on the next season of HBO's Hard Knocks, league sources said Saturday. The decision was made by, among others, owner Arthur Blank, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Mike Smith. They were in agreement that the focus should be on football over the summer, and they didn't want anything to distract from that. The Falcons were the network's next choice once the New York Jets appeared to be disinterested in doing the show again, according to sources close to the situation.

What a novel concept! A football team that focuses on football. Who'd a thunk it?

It would appear HBO needs to change the format or drop the idea completely. No team wants to be part of that, do they?

I think this stuff needs to be left to NFL Films. They could do something that doesn't come across solely as some reality television show where teams play to the camera. Then again, if Goodell gets the idea then all the teams will have to do it just to line the pockets a bit more. Fine them if they don't comply.

Hard Knocks should be part of the punishment for teams like the New Orleans Saints. They could even have hidden cameras following Sean Payton around ... like Cheaters.

If someone would break Joey in two, I'd watch!

First the Jets refuse and then the Falcons, hard knocks for "Hard Knocks".

Did you see the one where he jumped on to some guy's boat and got stabbed? Classic! I haven't laughed that hard in some time.

It looks like no teams want the circus in their town this summer.

Join the list. Maybe a name change to "Hard-on" would help......
