09:20 AM ET 04.22 | Bobby Valentine may be hearing boos from the crowd at Fenway Park, but his boss has his back. In the aftermath of yesterday's stunning 15-9 loss to the Yankees, Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington offered a vote of confidence for Valentine, saying he's "very satisfied" with the manager's performance despite the Red Sox' 4-10 record. After the game, Valentine had a closed-door meeting in his office with Cherington, principal owner John Henry and team president Larry Lucchino. "The players will always influence wins and losses more than anybody else," Cherington said. "That's no different here. He's doing the best he can with the roster he has. It'll get better. He knows that, and I know that. Along the way, if changes need to be made on the roster, that's my responsibility."

As I said on Friday, Sox owners are clueless.

It looks like today's game will be rained out, so that's a plus.

I can't stand the guy, but really, don't the players get paid to do a job? If he leaves the kid in yesterday and he throws 120 pitches and then suckks it up his next start or two they blame him.
If your bullpen cannot do better than that, then the GM and the scouts should stand at home plate and get booed.
Missing a closer? heck they cannot get to a closer toeven have it matter.

Only 6 more games until we reach Schad's telling 20 games. Hope they can do something right.

And unless Bowden's arm fell off, he has to be better than some of what we have in the bullpen.

Sunshine & 70+ degree temperatures in the Great State... and plenty of yard work to keep one occupied.

It's not really anything Bobby V has done. Really, would the won/loss record be much different if Tito were standing at the top step in a fleece pullover? It is just that when Bobby V walks out on the field, the fans see the ownership and management who put together this team of also rans bogged down by crushing contract commitments and the players not playing up to their contracts.
