09:00 AM ET 04.22 | Robert Griffin III's life will change this week. The talented quarterback is expected to be the No. 2 pick in the National Football League draft on Thursday, and he appears bound for Washington, where the Redskins have spent the past two decades searching for a franchise quarterback. He'll be charged immediately with reviving an organization mired in futility and will carry with him the hopes and expectations of its legions of fans. It's a task that doesn't seem to unnerve Griffin. Griffin will have to learn a new offensive system and must polish his skill-set. He says he really likes the Redskins coaches, with whom he met multiple times in the weeks leading up to the draft. Due diligence, team officials called it. But no matter how hard they looked - like everyone else - it's hard to find a lot wrong with Griffin. "I don't have any concerns about this kid. What you see is what you get. ... He's a special young man," said ESPN analyst Jon Gruden, a former NFL head coach who noted that Griffin almost single-handedly turned around the Baylor football program. "I think he can do the same thing for the Redskins. He can revive the Redskins."

Can RGIII revive the Redskins?

I was just thinking, no matter how good this kid can be, Dan Snyder and Mike Shanahan can find a way to ruin it.

Sure he can. But adding pieces will not be easy. Lack of early round draft picks the next two years and the cap issue will make it harder.

Hail to the Redskins!!

Fortunately for them, the Defense is coming along nicely.

As long as they remember WHEN to play prevent and When to call an all out blitz.

I don't know if RG3 can really help the Skins, but I know that he can't hurt them all that bad!!!

First thing I thought. I don't think that Shanahan can think in today's football schemes. He'd probably still be in Denver if he could.

As much as I question old Chucky's judgment, I sometimes think he'd still do a better job. Maybe he's the Skins' future.

I doubt it, not immediately. It'll take a few years. One good player does not a great team make.

Unless he is the missing piece. Skins haven't had a "franchise" QB in forever. Fingers crossed that RGIII will be one.

Except on 4th and forever. After 2 straight blitzes. Curses week 4 loss last year.
