Harmon critical of Haney's book

10:04 AM ET 04.22 | Butch Harmon can't go anywhere these days without someone asking him about Hank Haney's current best-selling book, "The Big Miss," about Haney's six years working with Tiger Woods. Up until now, Harmon has kept his thoughts to himself. So what did he think of the book? "I'm very surprised that he would write it," Harmon said this week. "I'd never do that to Tiger or Greg [Norman] or any of the guys I've been with. We get to spend a lot of time with these people, sometimes even more time than their own families. Things are said, or you see different things, and it's just???it is what it is, you just leave it where it belongs. I was really shocked to see him talk about Elin and Tiger's kids and stuff like that, I don't think that had any place in it." He went on: "It almost seems the way he has everything documented in there - too many times and dates and places that you wouldn't come up with from memory - it's like he kept precise notes all along with writing a book in mind."

Yes Butch...you're a saint.

That was Eldrick's problem...never spent any time with his Mrs.

I guess it's human nature to want to become a celebrity when you spend so much time with them. I'm with Butch on this one, if Tiger thought he was speaking in confidence, Haney should have respected that.

A new golf thread after two weeks... and AGAIN it has to do with Drick? Is there absolutely nothing else left to cover in the golf world???

You've basically hit the nail on the head. The media is too shallow to bother writing about anything else. Old story. If Jesus were a golfer today and good, do you think Morfit & Co., would be writing about anyone else? I wonder if Jesus would throw his clubs. I don't think he'd be as good at it as showboat.

That's about right.

I've been away about 2 months and about 4 new stories have been ladled out to the masses.

TW stories or otherwise, fling a grenade in this thing.

Poor Ben Curtis. First win in 6 years, nary a mention.

I caught that too. If you scan the sports blurbs on all the network sites, not a mention of Curtis. If Showboat is a factor, they mention it. Or, if it's Phil. Anyone else and they don't bother. It doesn't matter if it's ABC, NBC, CBS or USAToday. I'm convinced that these websites are maintained by pimple-faced 15 year olds who, naturally, know nothing.

Hey, hold on, I remember when I was a pimple-faced 15 year old. (God that was a long time ago) I even had hair. And, I was smarter than these goof-balls picking "goilf" stories.

The best part about when i was 15 is that "Tiger" was only a flavor of ice cream

You missed our Masters pool Helen. Rex won it and as such earned the right to wear a green jacket as his avatar.

That's Texas for you. You can be gone for 2 months and no one notices until you show up again all of a sudden.

He missed his unauthorized biography too. Thank god for that ;)

Yeah, I think about that too. If Helen went back and read the story lines that were written about him he would think he was Sitting Bull. You want a good read or listen, pick up "Last Stand". It's available on CD. My wife and I listened to it on the way down to Florida last week. If you really want to know about Custer and what happened, it's worth it. Very illuminating.

Hell, even the minor mention of Bubba winning the Masters was only to compare his popularity to Drick's.

I see Rex in camo.

That's true, Bish.

We've got amber alerts out the kazoo around here.

Old people jump in the car to go for a drive and wind up in Ft. Stockton because they can't figure out how to turn around.

That IS a great read, Jonis.

I read a few of 'em while dragging my **** around the Pacific rim.

I think I'm caught up.

That's the great thing about this sight.

The people that post here are far more interesting than the articles.

I wholly endorse my unauthorized bio.

By the way, has anyone been to Macau?

I never want to go again, but I want to go again.
