Barea: Players 'don't care'

08:07 AM ET 04.23 | J.J. Barea was tired of watching Minnesota lose its 12th of 13 games. "We've got problems here," Barea said. "We just got a lot of guys that don't care. When a basketball team got a bunch of players that don't care, it's tough to win games. It's going to happen until we get players in that care: care about winning, care about the team, care about the fans." In a flashback to the Kurt Rambis Era, several of the Wolves clearly didn't give a flip. They coughed up a 21-point lead late in the first half to the woeful, banged-up Golden State Warriors in a game that reflected badly on coach Rick Adelman, the Wolves organization and, most of all, the players themselves.

I'm going to take a different position...
Maybe Adelman hasn't lost the team - maybe this team needs an infusion of some new players.
Ones with heart.

I'm not a Timberwolves fan, but I know from personal experience that it is extremely difficult to go into a game you have little chance of winning. Smart money says they haven't given up; it just looks that way.

and they were competing ahead of schedule when they had a healthy roster...once Rubio and Love went down there's no way this team could be expected to win many games. Motivation i really don't see as an issue, it's obviously a matter of health and some experience.
There's potential for this team if Williams can develop into a player or at least be traded for one. Wes Johnson was an awful waste of such a high pick. Imagine this team with Cousins or Monroe next to Love

Yup...
These are your studs. Lose your studs and it's a tough road.
OKC has some nice players too... but if they lost KD & RW they would be in the same rudderless boat as the Wolves.

Exactly. It's hard to still be good and competitive when your best guys, not to mention the leaders of the team, aren't on the court setting the tone. I'm thinking that is more of what is wrong with this team than anything. If both guys hadn't got hurt, they would be battling for a 7-8 seed right now.

This is a ridiculous thread. Anyone who actually went to a T-wolves game earlier in the season before the injuries started piling up, saw a team that clearly cared. I was at the Jazz game at the Target Center when the T-Wolves came back from 16 down with 10 to play to win it. The T-wolves came back from alot of deficits early in the season. I's bet anyone that cares to, that the team we see on opening day next year is the one from the 1st half of the season not the one from the last 20 games.
