08:01 AM ET 04.24 | While Denver's most expensive addition is an older-model quarterback, they also dropped a good chunk of change on new technology. [The Broncos] are tossing out the tradition of printing 500-page playbooks every week for each of the 120 players, coaches, scouts and other personnel. This season, the team will hand out iPads that feature the week's game plan, scouting reports, video clips and other relevant data. The digital transition will not only save trees but may also give the Broncos a competitive edge. Just two other teams in the National Football League -- the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- have discarded the printed playbook in favor of a tablet and an app.

Baltimore and Tampa is kind of a mixed bag. That's the argument for a competitive advantage? One out of three teams using tablets doesn't suck?

It's doubtful most of these guys can even figure out how to use and Ipad.

Yeah, but they also struggled with figuring out how to use a book. With an iPad, at least, you don't have that whole page-turning thing to get past.

Not to mention that pesky reading thing.

They'll figure out how to watch **** really quickly.

The end of an era. From now on, it will be....

"Coach wants to see you in his office. Bring your iPad."

One for sure, I think you mean

God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on 2 tablets. It's a good thing they come with more memory these days.

The next thing you know coaches will be tweeting plays to the QB.

April 24, 2012  09:20 AM ET

Gee....that's smart! Give the players an even bigger screen to play 'Draw Something'!!!

The Cowboys won't be using tablet devices, iPads or other technological advantages. The Cowboys will only be required to recite their loyalty oaths to Jerry Jones and fall to their knees praising Jerry. Cowboys don't need no stinking Super Bowls. Cowboys can wallow in delusions of success in their Jerry world temple of excess.

April 24, 2012  09:49 AM ET

I can't really see how this is a game changer unless they have the "Saint's app" for eavesdropping on the other teams communications during the game...

Still the best cheerleaders in this league, or any league. I can't think of a better thing to put on the new high-resolution display of the iPad-3.

But having both is icing on the cake. Or whipped cream on the buns. Whatever.

Too funny. And ten minutes into it half the team will be playing a game on it or doing some fantasy football stuff. tweet tweeting each other.
